TRUMP SENDS NUCLEAR SUBS AFTER RUSSIAN WAR THREAT
Why a nuclear war is unlikely and what would happen if it occurred.
Putin, being the tough Russian mafia guy that he is, sent the word that if Trump tried to put tariffs on Russia, he could be looking to start a war. Keeping in mind that Putin has recently threatened the use of nuclear bombs if necessary. So, Trump being Trump and not backing off from anyone, sent two nuclear submarines towards Russian waters for our defense.
As threatening as it sounds, it’s just a threat. Experts largely agree that a global nuclear war is extremely unlikely. However, the specter of such a conflict still shapes global security policy due to its potentially civilization-ending consequences. Leaders of nuclear armed countries know that launching an all-out nuclear war would likely annihilate both attacker and defender, potentially followed by additional attacks by other countries looking to assist their allies.
The result, even on a limited scale, would instantly kill millions through blast, heat and radiation. Radioactive debris would spread across borders, contaminating air, water and soil well beyond the original blast areas. Clouds of smoke and soot would be in the atmosphere, blocking the sun and dropping worldwide temperatures dramatically. This would last for years, wiping out global agriculture, causing worldwide famine for decades. No country would be protected from the indirect impacts. The entire world would be changed and come to an end as we know it. The world would be back to the “Dark Ages”.
Fortunately, nuclear arsenals are managed by tightly controlled chains of command with multiple safeguards to prevent unauthorized or accidental launches. Communication between nuclear powers, the U.S., Russia, China, Europe, etc. remain in place even in times of severe tension.
Hopefully, we’ll never see any country sending off a nuclear bomb, as nobody survives if it happens. Those that even threaten the use of nuclear weapons know that if they decide to use them, they’ll go down with the rest of us. There will be no winner to a nuclear war.
WHY SPEND BILLIONS BUILDING NEW WEAPONS?
All of this begs another question. Nukes are built as a last resort to win a war. No country is going to be taken over by another in a war if they can win the war or at least get even (meaning everyone loses) by using a nuclear bomb. That’s indisputable. Given that, why do countries spend hundreds of billions of dollars on building new jet fighters, tanks and other fighting apparatus which are useless against a nuclear bomb. In the end, the country(s) losing the battle are more than likely going to fire of some nukes to keep from losing the war. It’s basically human nature. Hit me and I’ll hit you back harder. So, the question is, why waste money on all these weapons in the first place?
